Scarlett Douglas Reveals Marriage and Dubai Relocation Plans with Boyfriend Kyle Murray
A Place In The Sun host Scarlett Douglas has opened up about her aspirations to marry her boyfriend, Kyle Murray, in the coming months before the couple relocates to Dubai together. The 38-year-old presenter and property expert, who typically assists others in finding their ideal homes, is now focused on establishing her own family life in the United Arab Emirates, citing it as a safer environment for raising children.
From Secret Romance to Public Announcement
Until recently, Scarlett had kept her relationship with Kyle private, but she shared his identity in a heartfelt Valentine's Day post earlier this month. While they are not yet engaged, she confirmed that Kyle is aware of the ring she desires for their future wedding. The star, who has previously expressed her desire to become a mother, made the decision to freeze her eggs in 2024, a move she describes as the best thing she has ever done.
In a candid interview, Scarlett explained, He already knows what ring I want. Living together, we're looking to do it in June, so he's going to start renting out his place because his place is smaller than mine. And then obviously we're going to be going to Dubai together in September or October time.
Dream Wedding and Family Aspirations
Scarlett elaborated on their shared vision, noting that Kyle, who has never been married and has no children, is equally committed to marriage and starting a family. She revealed plans for a wedding in Jamaica, where both of their parents originate, adding, We're doing our guest list from now so the minute he says 'will you marry me' and I say 'yes' I'm on it but that's because I used to be a bridal consultant.
Reflecting on their relationship, she expressed, I think I manifested him because I literally wrote down a list of exactly who I wanted in my life. He literally just walked into my life and he's everything that I asked for, it's crazy.
Dubai as a Safe Haven for Family Life
The decision to move to Dubai stems from Kyle's job offer and Scarlett's desire to create a secure home for their future children. She stated, I'm looking to move to Dubai later on in the year. My partner has just got offered a job over there he used to live there many moons ago so we're looking to go over there. I want to open a stage school there so I can give back to the young kids and maybe even open a gym there because my partner is in fitness. So Dubai will be great because it's so safe for children.
Egg Freezing Journey and Advocacy
Scarlett's interview also delved into her personal fertility journey, highlighting her decision to freeze her eggs as a proactive measure. She traveled to Barbados for the procedure at a fertility clinic and has since become an advocate, particularly within the black community, where she feels medical issues are often under-discussed. I'm in the public eye as it is anyway and if I have a profile, I need to make sure that there's an awareness, especially within the black community, because I think we don't really talk about medical issues that much. So as a black female, I guess I took it upon myself to document it, she explained.
Despite the challenges, including undergoing the procedure just before the Ideal Home Show, Scarlett emphasized its importance. It was a very difficult two days of the show because of everything I had just been through. Yet despite the challenges, Scarlette admitted that freezing her eggs was the 'best thing' she could have done and that she feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders.
Financial and Practical Aspects of Egg Freezing
She underwent the process at the Harley Street Fertility Clinic, which took nearly two weeks. According to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HEFA), egg freezing and thawing can cost between £7,000 and £8,000 on average, with eggs storable for up to 55 years. While success rates have historically been low, technological improvements are enhancing outcomes. Scarlett urged more women to consider the option, stating, I know it's very expensive but there are ways that you can do it where there are payment plans, but if anybody's thinking about it, just ask the question. New Property Venture with Brother Stuart
