The abductions took place on Sunday in the Kurmin Wali area of Kajuru, located in Kaduna state. Gunmen launched simultaneous attacks on three separate churches, leading to chaos and a mass kidnapping. Initial reports indicated that 177 individuals were missing following the assaults.
By Monday, a small number had managed to return. Eleven people found their way back to their communities, but 168 remain unaccounted for. As of now, no armed group has publicly claimed responsibility for these kidnappings.
