Married At First Sight Bride Brook Crompton Makes Sensational Exit

In one of the worst kept secrets in Married At First Sight history, bride Brook Crompton has dramatically quit the experiment. The 27-year-old's departure aired on Tuesday night, leaving groom Chris Nield, 31, shocked and crestfallen.

Revelations and Rekindled Romance

Daily Mail initially revealed back in February that Brook had abruptly quit the experiment. Last week, further reports emerged that she had rekindled a romance with her ex-partner and is now pregnant. These developments add significant context to her sudden exit from the reality television show.

After apparently bonding during Monday's intimacy week challenge, Brook admitted in an off-camera conversation with Chris that she needed space. "I need to be a little bit selfish, you know. Take a step back, know the person I want you to be," she told him.

Underlying Tensions and 'Slip-Ups'

Brook made reference to Chris' previous comments, particularly those he made about women in his audition video. "I can't be holding your hand with the slip-ups and things. It's a lot to deal with," she explained. "I think you've got a lot of work to do on yourself, I've got a lot of work to do on myself. I'm not feeling it right now."

Sexpert Alessandra Rampolla had assigned the grooms 'covert tasks' to perform for their brides. Chris returned to the apartment with renewed vigour, planning a 'spa night' for Brook. He ran her a bubble bath and adorned the bathroom with champagne and face masks for two.

Gesture Backfires as Brook Feels 'Smothered'

This well-intentioned gesture did not sit well with Brook, who admitted to feeling overwhelmed. "Obviously I'm feeling a little overwhelmed," she told producers. "I was looking forward to some space but he's going out and doing this task to make me feel good. I feel a little bit smothered. I've tried to explain that to him so many times and I don't think he's understanding."

Brook went off to enjoy her bubble bath alone, leaving Chris feeling disappointed. "I definitely feel like I'm in limbo," Chris said, admitting he remained hopeful that the couple could overcome this hurdle.

Dramatic Departure and Emotional Aftermath

The gesture proved fruitless, however, with Brook sensationally packing her bags and leaving the experiment. When asked for an explanation, Chris was at a loss for words. "I'm just trying to think how to word it," he said. "Brook's decided to go back home to the Gold Coast. She's just followed her mind and her heart and had to pull the pin."

Declaring his fondness for his reality bride, Chris admitted to being upset over Brook's sudden exit. "I'm not going to sit here and say I'm not upset," he confessed. "I think anyone with feelings and emotions directed towards someone and then obviously they're not reciprocating, it's always going to hurt."

Connection and Void Left Behind

Chris added that the hurt was made even more apparent, given the connection he believed the couple had established. "I've said from the start that I thought she was this amazing person with an awesome personality. We got along so well and had a lot in common. It feels like I've known her for years," he reflected. "Brook's gone and I'm here by myself now and it's difficult. It feels like there's a void now."

Accepting Responsibility and Moving Forward

Despite the jilting, Chris admitted full responsibility while holding out a morsel of hope that he could change Brook's mind. "It's obviously sad but I understand how we've gotten to where we are. I know it all stems from me, my attitude and my audition video," he said. "I'm more just disappointed in myself."

It seems that Brook's departure may have been the wakeup call Chris needed. "The biggest thing for me is to start thinking a lot more about the gravity of situations before I make comments and remarks which get me in trouble every day in life," he acknowledged. "Obviously I hope I can change how she feels about me but now, I just feel defeated."

New Beginnings with Ex-Partner

Following her exit, news has emerged that Brook is now engaged and pregnant—not with her television husband, but with her ex-partner. The Married At First Sight bride reunited with her ex, 28-year-old Harry, and the pair are now expecting their first child together.

Married At First Sight continues at 7:30pm on Wednesday on Nine, with viewers left to ponder the dramatic twists and turns of this particular relationship experiment.
