Alan Carr Donates Traitors Prize to Charity

Comedian Alan Carr has donated his £87,500 prize from winning the BBC's Celebrity Traitors to Neuroblastoma UK, a children's cancer charity he has supported for nine years.

The charity's trustee, Tori Oldridge, described the donation as 'incredible' and said it would make a 'huge impact'. She added that staff were 'on the edge of their seats' watching the final, feeling the emotion Carr experienced.

Carr, who became emotional on the show when revealing he was a traitor, said: 'It's an absolute privilege to be able to support Neuroblastoma UK... this money will literally save lives.'

Emily Hood, head of fundraising and communications, called the donation 'transformational' for the small charity, which aims to find better treatments and a cure for neuroblastoma, a rare cancer affecting children under five.
