Max George Hospitalised Overnight Following Previous Heart Surgery
Max George has provided his followers with another concerning health update, revealing he was rushed to hospital in the middle of the night. The 37-year-old singer from chart-topping band The Wanted took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to share details of his latest medical emergency.
Emergency Hospital Visit After Previous Heart Procedures
George initially posted a photograph showing himself in Accident and Emergency with a cannula inserted in his arm. This latest hospital visit follows his December 2024 pacemaker implantation, which occurred after his mother Babs noticed he had turned blue and insisted on immediate medical attention. The singer later required a second surgical procedure to correct a misplaced wire from the initial operation.
Several hours after his first post, George shared a video update from his hospital bed, appearing exhausted and confused about his current condition. I've been here pretty much all night, so absolutely knackered, he told followers. They've given me a little bed in the side room, which is cool. No idea what's going on, what's happened or why it happened.
Ongoing Health Battles and Medical Monitoring
This emergency visit represents just the latest chapter in George's ongoing health struggles. Just weeks prior, he returned to hospital for a chest scan related to lung complications. During that visit, he recorded himself walking through hospital corridors, commenting I can't say it's good to be back, because it's not about returning to the facility where he underwent his heart surgeries.
In his Tuesday morning posts before the overnight emergency, George expressed frustration about the timing of his health issues, writing This sh** ALWAYS happens in the middle of the night alongside concerns about his dog Albert. He also shared a selfie showing his face appearing flushed and red, captioned simply Running HOT.
Support System and Recovery Journey
George's girlfriend, former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, recently discussed how their relationship has strengthened throughout his health challenges. No one knew what was going to happen this time last year, Smith revealed in an interview, referring to George's life-saving surgery nearly a year ago. She confirmed their bond has grown stronger through the ordeal, stating she fell in love with him all over again.
The couple recently performed together in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds during March, portraying husband and wife on stage. Smith described watching George perform in New York as a nice feeling to see him do that after the year he's had, though she acknowledged he still experiences difficult days alongside better ones in his recovery.
George concluded his hospital bed update with characteristic understatement, telling followers But yeah, I've had better days as he awaits further test results and medical explanations for his latest health emergency.
