Miranda Kerr Reveals Intense Victoria's Secret Workout and Beauty Secrets
Miranda Kerr Shares Victoria's Secret Prep Secrets

She may have made it look effortless on the runway, but behind the scenes Miranda Kerr was putting in serious work. This week, the Australian supermodel, 43, spoke to the Well With Arielle Lorre podcast about how she prepared to walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, revealing the intense training and beauty secrets behind her polished catwalk look.

Intense Workout Regimen

'I was working out six days a week. But I was enjoying it,' Miranda revealed. 'I was working out with a trainer called Justin Gelband, and he got me really ready and I just kind of followed his lead.' The brunette explained that her workouts were varied and often unpredictable, designed to keep her body lean and runway-ready.

'Sometimes we'd be doing skipping, sometimes we'd be doing these little discs and things, sometimes we'd be doing boxing, sometimes we'd be doing running up and down the westside highway - which was not one of my favourite things, and he knew that. I prefer more like, slow and steady,' she shared.

Beauty Rituals for the Runway

Beyond fitness, the mother-of-three also relied on beauty rituals to achieve her signature glow under the runway lights, including body treatments and spray tanning techniques. 'The noni body oil [was used] all over our bodies to give that beautiful glowing skin,' Miranda said, referring to a nutrient-dense oil made from noni fruit.

She added that spray tans were often used strategically, not just for colour but for definition. 'Everyone got a spray tan before the show, and you can actually do a spray tan where you, like, contour the abs,' she explained, adding: 'So that's one of the things a lot of us would do, get a little shading in there, a little etching in the abs.'

Returning to the Runway After Motherhood

Miranda also reflected on returning to the runway not long after becoming a mother to her son Flynn Bloom, who she shares with actor Orlando Bloom. Flynn was born in 2011, and she said the experience was particularly intense at the time. 'I was wearing the Fantasy Bra and I'd not long [ago] had Flynn. I guess, like, six months after. And I was still breast feeding, so yeah, that was fun,' she said sarcastically.

Career Highlights

Gunnedah-raised Miranda first rose to prominence after winning the 1997 Dolly Magazine competition at just 13. In the early 2000s, she signed with international agencies and moved to New York, where she began building her portfolio with commercial campaigns and editorial work. She began working with Victoria's Secret in 2006, initially appearing in its catalogue and walking in the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. In 2007, Miranda was officially contracted as a Victoria's Secret Angel, becoming the first Australian model to hold the title. She remained an Angel for six years, during which she walked in multiple Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows and became one of the brand's most recognisable faces globally. She ended her contract with Victoria's Secret in 2013, before the US lingerie giant announced it was scrapping its Angels brand in 2021 for a more inclusive image.

Declining a Return

When Miranda was asked to make an appearance in the show in 2023, Victoria's Secret World Tour, she declined the invitation. 'When they were doing this [new] show, they were like, 'Miranda, we'd love to have you back,'' she told the Herald Sun at the time. 'I felt like, I had already hung up my wings. I'm good. And then… I'm pregnant, so it all worked out.' The model and Kora Organics skincare entrepreneur added she has no regrets about working with the fashion label, but her life and career are now heading in a 'different direction'.
