Grace Season 6 Confirmed After Shocking Finale Twist

ITV's crime drama Grace concluded its fifth season on Sunday, April 27, with a jaw-dropping twist that has left fans clamouring for more. The episode, titled 'Find Them Dead', saw John Simm's Detective Superintendent Roy Grace visit the imprisoned former police chief Cassian Pewe, who revealed a sinister truth about the death of Grace's wife, Sandy.

Pewe disclosed that Sandy was killed by a man named Benchdale over an unsettled debt, with her death staged as a suicide. He also suggested that a previous car accident in Germany may have been an earlier assassination attempt. In a chilling warning, Pewe added, 'Sandy's debt still isn't paid. They know she has a son – Bruno. I hear they're out for blood, an eye for an eye!'

The cliffhanger sets the stage for the already-confirmed sixth season, which is expected to begin production soon. John Simm teased the upcoming series while promoting the fifth, stating, 'We're about to start series six so clearly it has struck a chord with a lot of people.' He added that the finale's storyline will be picked up in the next season, with 'the stakes get higher every season.'

Grace is based on the bestselling novels by Peter James, who has sold over 21 million copies worldwide. James expressed his delight at the series' success, saying, 'It is both heartening and astounding to me that we're already at series five!' He praised the cast and crew, as well as the fans, for their devotion to the characters.

While no specific plot details for season six have been confirmed, it is expected that John Simm will return as Roy Grace, alongside Richie Campbell as DI Glenn Branson and Zoe Tapper as Cleo Morey. With Peter James continuing to write new novels, there is no shortage of source material for future episodes.
