TikTok star Tineke Younger loses twin daughter at 36 weeks

TikTok personality and chef Tineke 'Tini' Younger has shared heartbreaking news with her followers, announcing the death of one of her twin baby daughters just weeks before their due date.

A Devastating Announcement

The 24-year-old media star, who married Antoine Wright Jr. in November 2024, took to Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday to deliver the emotional update. Younger revealed that her daughter, Arya, referred to as Baby A, had passed away after she suffered a serious medical complication known as a placenta abruption.

'This isn't the post I ever thought I would share once the twins came, unfortunately earlier this week we lost our sweet girl Arya,' Younger wrote. 'We made it to almost 36 weeks we were so close to being done and getting the girls to term but I had a placenta abruption and we lost our sweet girl.'

Understanding the Tragedy: What is a Placenta Abruption?

A placenta abruption is a severe pregnancy complication where the placenta separates from the inner wall of the uterus before delivery. According to the Mayo Clinic, this condition can decrease or completely block the baby's supply of oxygen and nutrients and also causes heavy bleeding in the mother.

Despite the profound loss, Younger shared a glimmer of hope, confirming that her other baby girl is 'doing really good and breathing on her own.' She paid tribute to her lost daughter, affirming that Arya's memory will live on. 'They both are so beautiful and Arya will always be celebrated, her sister will know she is a twin and has a beautiful twin sister.'

A Time for Healing and a Social Media Break

In her emotional post, the TikTok chef included a series of poignant black-and-white photographs, with one image showing her and her husband holding their beloved Arya. Younger also informed her community that she 'will be taking a break' from social media to grieve and heal, though she promised her followers she would return.

The couple had joyfully announced they were expecting twins earlier this year. In a creative June post captioned 'Putting a bun(s) in the oven,' Younger and her husband baked together, with Antoine's help being described as essential for the 'two-person job.' A subsequent reveal showed them holding tiny 'Sous Chef' sweatshirts next to a sign that read '2 sous chefs on the way 2025.' The following month, in July, they shared the exciting news that they were expecting twin girls.
