Greg Davies Reveals Unexpected Ozempic Side Effect Before Baftas
Greg Davies Reveals Unexpected Ozempic Side Effect

Greg Davies, the comedian best known for hosting Taskmaster, has disclosed his use of the weight-loss drug Ozempic and an unexpected lasting side effect. The 6ft 6in star, who will present the Bafta Television Awards on Sunday, admitted in an interview with The Times that he turned to the medication to reduce his imposing physique.

Weight Loss and Regret

Davies revealed that he shed three stone while on Ozempic, but the outcome was not entirely positive. “Three stone fell off me,” he said. “But I didn’t really like it, it made me a bit gaunt.” He subsequently stopped taking the drug, only to regain the lost weight. However, he noted a permanent change: “My appetite’s never gone back to the way it was. I can’t ram things in the way I used to.”

Bafta Television Awards

Davies is set to host the Bafta Television Awards tonight at the Royal Festival Hall in London, broadcast on BBC One. He described the event as “an opportunity to wave a flag for this beloved medium” and joked about personal grievances with certain industry figures, but vowed to ensure a warm celebration. The Netflix drama Adolescence leads nominations with 11 nods, while Celebrity Traitors earned five.

Controversy Avoidance

The ceremony follows the Bafta Film Awards in February, where an incident involving Tourette Syndrome activist John Davidson using racist slurs toward actors Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo sparked controversy. Presenter Alan Cumming criticised Bafta’s leadership. Davies declined to comment on the specifics, saying, “I don’t know what happened there but I’m sure they’ve got it in hand so that everybody has a nice time. I don’t anticipate there’ll be any surprises but if there are, we’ll be fine, we’ll roll with it.”
