Helen Flanagan Eyes Waterloo Road Role After Corrie Snub

Helen Flanagan is setting her sights on a new acting role with the BBC after Coronation Street bosses failed to invite her back to the iconic ITV soap. The 35-year-old actress, who played Rosie Webster for nearly two decades, has confirmed she is actively seeking her next project following the end of her recent theatre and panto work.

Coronation Street Comeback Not on the Cards

Flanagan first appeared on Coronation Street in 2000 at the age of nine and remained with the show until her departure. Despite her desire to return to the famous cobbles, she told the Daily Star: "I really want to go back, but they just have not asked me. If the cobbles come calling, I would love to. I am literally just down the road. But sadly, they have not yet."

New Ambitions on BBC

With her Corrie role not resuming anytime soon, Flanagan has her eyes on a role in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road. She said: "I think I'd be good in Waterloo Road. I'd probably play either a mum or a teacher. I think that would suit me well." The actress, who shares three children with footballer ex Scott Sinclair, is keen to focus on acting after a period of downtime.

Moving On from Family Home

Flanagan recently moved out of the eight-bedroom Bolton home she once shared with Sinclair. The property, initially listed at £1.5 million, sold for £500,000 below the asking price. She is now downsizing and considering a move to London. On the Declutter Hub Podcast, she said: "It actually makes me sad that I'm going to be leaving this house soon because I put so much effort into it. But it's a lot to keep on top of."

The actress admitted the transition will be challenging but remains grounded. "I think I'm going to struggle when I do move because I will be downsizing so much. Obviously, I will get used to it, I'm sure," she added.
