The Capture Series 3: Full Episode Count and BBC Broadcast Schedule

BBC's critically acclaimed thriller The Capture has officially made its highly anticipated return for a third series this month. The show, which explores the dangerous implications of deepfake technology and state surveillance, continues to captivate audiences with its tense narrative and complex characters.

Returning Cast and New Additions

Holliday Grainger reprises her central role as Rachel Carey, the determined detective fighting against the clandestine video manipulation programme known as Correction. She returns alongside Paapa Essiedu as Isaac Turner, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, and Ron Perlman as CIA agent Frank Napier.

The ensemble cast also welcomes back familiar faces including Indira Varma, Ben Miles, Lia Williams, Andy Nyman, Nigel Lindsay, Tessa Wong, and Daisy Waterstone. This series introduces several new cast members, including Killian Scott, Joe Dempsie, Andrew Buchan, Hugh Quarshie, Amanda Drew, Linus Roache, and Jonathan Aris, expanding the show's dramatic scope.

Series Three Plot and Setting

The third series picks up twelve months after Rachel Carey broadcast a live deepfake of a government minister to the nation, exposing the Correction programme. Now serving as Acting Commander of Counter Terrorism Command, Carey is determined to rebuild public trust in surveillance technology through the new Operation Veritas camera system.

Filmed throughout South East England, the series opens with a brutal, exceptionally coordinated terrorist attack targeting the British establishment, leaving just one witness. As Carey investigates, she becomes entangled in an unfolding geopolitical crisis that threatens to corrupt the political establishment, security services, and media. The conspiracy reaches deep into the state, raising questions about who is truly pulling the strings.

Episode Count and Release Schedule

The third series of The Capture consists of six episodes in total. The premiere episode debuted on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday, March 8, with a simultaneous broadcast on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

The BBC has confirmed that subsequent episodes will be released weekly. The second episode will air on Sunday, March 15 at 9pm on BBC One, with new episodes continuing every Sunday. All episodes become available on BBC iPlayer following their television broadcast, allowing viewers to watch at their convenience.

This release pattern maintains the suspense and anticipation that has become characteristic of the series, while providing regular weekly installments for dedicated viewers. The six-episode structure allows for detailed character development and complex plot progression as Rachel Carey navigates increasingly dangerous territory with few remaining allies.
