Netflix's latest psychological thriller, The Beast in Me, has become an undeniable hit, captivating audiences across the UK with its tense narrative and acclaimed cast. The series, created by the team behind the award-winning show Homeland, stars Claire Danes as Aggie Wings, a Pulitzer Prize-winning memoirist grappling with profound writer's block and personal tragedy. Her solitary existence is disrupted by the arrival of her new neighbour, Matthew Rhys as the enigmatic Nile Jarvis.
Aggie's life is brightened by her pet dog, Steve, whose presence carries a poignant backstory. "One of the things that drew me to the show initially was that we're living in a time with texts and threads and smearing people and jumping to conclusions," Gordon revealed. He added, "When we are forced to look at it from another angle, do we have the humility and the compassion to listen, and to revise the narrative?"
The series also features a strong supporting cast, including Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, and David Lyons.
