Strictly Pro Graziano Di Prima Breaks Silence on 'Deeply Saddening' Exit: 'I Respect BBC Decision'
Strictly's Graziano Breaks Silence on BBC Exit

Strictly Come Dancing star Graziano Di Prima has broken his silence for the first time since his sudden and shocking exit from the hit BBC show, calling the situation "deeply saddening" but stating he respects the corporation's decision.

The professional dancer, who joined the show in 2018, was dropped by the BBC following an internal investigation into allegations about his conduct. His departure was announced just days before the new series' professional dancer lineup was revealed.

In an emotional statement posted on his Instagram, the 30-year-old dancer said: "I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime."

While not detailing the specific allegations, Di Prima acknowledged his behaviour had fallen short of the standards expected. "I have always strived to give my all when dancing, and I recognise that sometimes this intensity can be misunderstood," he added.

The BBC confirmed his departure in a brief statement last week, simply stating it would "not be commenting further" on the matter. The decision is understood to be the result of a complaint made about his behaviour during the last series.

Di Prima, who was partnered with celebrities including Judi Love and Zara McDermott, concluded his statement by thanking the show for the opportunity and his fans for their support, signing off: "I will forever cherish my time on the show and the people I worked with."
