Pierce Brosnan, 72, and Son Dylan Enjoy Mallorca Stroll Amid MobLand Filming
Pierce Brosnan and son Dylan spotted in Majorca

Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan was spotted enjoying a relaxed father-son outing with his eldest child, Dylan, on the sun-drenched island of Majorca this week.

A Sunny Mallorcan Stroll

The 72-year-old Irish star looked in high spirits as he embarked on a leisurely walk through the picturesque town of Valldemossa on Thursday. Brosnan wrapped up against the Mediterranean breeze in a smart brown coat and a casual baseball cap for the daytime excursion.

He was accompanied by his 29-year-old son, Dylan Brosnan, who is following in his father's footsteps as an actor. Dylan cut a stylish figure in a camel-coloured jacket paired with denim jeans for the casual outing, which also included a few of their friends.

The family visit comes as Pierce is currently in Spain to film the second part of the Paramount+ crime drama series MobLand. The production has brought the veteran actor to the Balearic Islands for this latest project.

Transformation for a Boxing Biopic

While promoting his upcoming film in the UK recently, Brosnan opened up about the dramatic physical change he underwent for one of his latest roles. He plays the legendary boxing trainer Brendan Ingle in the forthcoming biopic 'Giant'.

The film, produced by Sylvester Stallone, tells the true story of British-Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem Hamed's rise from the working-class streets of Sheffield to world champion, guided by the Irish-born Ingle.

Appearing on BBC's The One Show earlier this month alongside his co-star Amir El-Masry – who plays Hamed – Brosnan revealed the extensive prosthetic process. 'I spent a couple of hours in the make-up chair each day,' he explained. 'I had a bald cap and a nose applied. There was a transformation... I don't look like Brendan.'

Keeping the Leopard Print

When asked about the experience of wearing Ingle's iconic leopard print tracksuit in the film, Brosnan embraced the trainer's showmanship. 'Brendan was a total showman. So was Naz, and it was created out of that flamboyance,' he said.

In a humorous aside, the actor joked about keeping a souvenir from the set: 'I kept the leopard skin! You never know….'

The film, written and directed by Rowan Athale, explores the unlikely partnership between Ingle and Hamed. Their journey, marked by Naz's unorthodox style and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of the sport amidst the racism of 1980s and 1990s Britain.

'Giant' is scheduled for release in UK and Irish cinemas on January 9. AGC Studios CEO Stuart Ford has praised the 'powerful lead duo' of Brosnan and El-Masry, expressing strong belief in the film's cinematic potential.
