A murder investigation has been launched after a 37-year-old man was stabbed to death and another man seriously injured in Brighton. Emergency services were called to a property in Regency Square at around 2.10am on Sunday following reports of a fight.
Two men were found with stab wounds. One, in his 30s, was taken to hospital in a serious condition. The second, aged 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply. He remains in custody.
Chief Superintendent Adam Hays said: “This incident has had devastating consequences. There is not believed to be a wider risk to the public, and a thorough investigation is under way.” An increased police presence will be in the area.
