Mike Wolfe, the celebrated star of the long-running series American Pickers, is set to return to television screens with a brand-new show on the History Channel. The announcement comes just weeks after Wolfe moved to reassure fans that his original programme was not coming to an end.
A New Adventure for the Veteran Picker
The new eight-part series, titled History's Greatest Picks with Mike Wolfe, is scheduled to make its debut on 22 February. Each one-hour episode will see the 61-year-old treasure hunter delve into the fascinating narratives and remarkable valuations behind some of history's most legendary artefacts, relics, and treasures.
'I've been on the road filming American Pickers for over a decade, tracking down hidden gems in the most unexpected places and connecting with fascinating people who are preserving history,' Wolfe stated. 'I'm looking forward to embarking on a new adventure, while continuing my lifelong passion of picking with this series. Viewers are in for a ride through the greatest finds of all time.'
Uncovering Legendary Finds and Values
Leveraging his renowned eye for the unique and a deep passion for historic collectibles, Wolfe will guide the audience through surprising new details about iconic items and rare pieces. The show will focus on objects that have seen their ownership and worth dramatically shift over the past half-century.
According to the official synopsis, every episode will act as a curated showcase of unbelievable discoveries, ranging from vintage cars and motorcycles to pop culture memorabilia and historical oddities.
Clarifying the Future of American Pickers
This new venture follows recent confusion about the status of Wolfe's flagship show, American Pickers. Last month, his co-star Danielle Colby claimed the series was 'done' after 27 seasons during an Instagram post celebrating her 50th birthday.
Wolfe was quick to address these claims. 'American Pickers is still on the landscape for new shows,' he clarified in his own Instagram post. 'I can't wait for you guys to experience the stories from the road and the people that have uncovered some epic pieces.'
In her social media comments, Colby had suggested the show's conclusion would mark a significant personal and financial transition, stating, 'without the financial support of American Pickers, it's going to be a wild one.'
American Pickers, created by Mike Wolfe, first aired in 2010 and originally featured Colby and the late Frank Fritz. Fritz left the show in 2021 due to health complications and sadly passed away in September 2024 at the age of 60. The series follows a team of antique and collectible hunters from the Midwest as they travel across the United States seeking valuable items to resell or add to their personal collections.
