Following a spectacular ratings performance, the hit Netflix series Love Is Blind UK is officially expanding its universe with a brand new spin-off show. This new programme will capitalise on the show's success by catching up with the most beloved couples from the first two series, giving viewers a long-awaited glimpse into their real-world relationships.
What to Expect from the Love Is Blind UK Spin-Off
The upcoming spin-off, scheduled to air next year, is set to mirror the format of the American version, Love Is Blind: After The Altar. A television insider revealed that the show will not only focus on the couples who found love but will also check in with some of the single participants as they continue their search for a partner.
The source told The Sun that audiences can expect to see several familiar faces, including:
- Megan and Kieran from series two, who will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary.
- Jasmine and Bobby from series one, who are preparing to welcome their first child and will be shown at their baby shower.
- Kal and Sarover, also from series two, who will meet for the first time since their dramatic reunion revealed they had split.
The Success Stories and Struggles of Past Couples
The journey for Love Is Blind UK contestants has been a mixed bag. From series two, while Bardha Krasniqi and Jed Chouman did make it to the altar, Bardha ultimately decided she was not ready to commit. The pair attempted a relationship after the show but later admitted they were not compatible.
Other couples from the series, including Billy Jervis and Ashleigh Berry, and Sarover Kaur Aujla and Kal Pasha, have also gone their separate ways. This makes Megan Jupp and Kieran Holmes-Darby the only couple from series two who are still together.
The pair believe their lighthearted approach has been the cornerstone of their successful relationship. Kieran credited their ability to be "silly all the time" for creating a positive foundation, helping them navigate the intense initial stages in the pods and transition into the more fun aspects of their life together.
Series One Couples Going Strong
In contrast, series one has yielded more lasting romances. Jasmine and Bobby remain a couple two years on and are expecting their first child later this year. Theirs is a true Love Is Blind success story, with their love flourishing during the experiment. Jasmine told Netflix that they "weren't afraid to discuss very difficult topics," which strengthened their bond.
Their co-stars, Nicole and Benaiah, are also still going strong. Despite Benaiah's initial scepticism about the experiment's potential for success, meeting Nicole exceeded his expectations. Although they faced challenges on the road to the altar, the couple are happily married and are even planning another wedding ceremony.
Benaiah reflected on their journey, stating, "Throughout the whole experience it was always a challenge. I always felt on edge. Now I'm very comfortable and confident in us." The couple felt they greatly benefited from a year away from the cameras, allowing their romance to blossom organically.
The massive popularity of the format is undeniable. After series two scored an impressive 40 million views for Netflix in its first month, a third series has been officially commissioned. Emma and Matt Willis are set to return as hosts for the new season, ensuring continuity for the show's dedicated fanbase.
