Lisa Hogan, known for her role in Clarkson's Farm, is set to host ITV's new dating series Farming for Love, a revival of the 2001 show Farmer Wants a Wife. The programme will see farmers seeking romance with city-based singles.
Hogan announced the show on ITV's This Morning, encouraging viewers to apply. 'There are lots of farmers out there looking for love and we have four people who are just gorgeous,' she said. 'If you want to apply, you should – and apply for your friends and apply for your family.'
The four contestants include Guy, 29, a beef farmer from Wiltshire; Chris, 68, a North Yorkshire farmer widowed three years ago; Dana, 24, a dairy farmer from the UK; and George, 29, a Wrexham farmer seeking a date for his best friend's wedding.
Guy described the loneliness of farming, saying, 'It's a bit lonely driving around all day and checking cattle. You just want someone to come out with you at the weekend or the evening when you've got to do a calf.' Chris added, 'It's been a tough old time the last three and a bit years but I don't want to do it on my own.'
Farming for Love is set to air in June. Hogan, partner of Jeremy Clarkson, continues to film Clarkson's Farm, with upcoming episodes focusing on a bovine tuberculosis outbreak.
