The British spy thriller series Killing Eve, based on Luke Jennings' Villanelle novels, has captivated audiences since its 2018 debut. With a 96% Rotten Tomatoes rating for its first season, the show has been hailed as 'captivating, dramatic, addictive and different' by fans, and won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series.

The series follows MI5 officer Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) and psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) in a deadly cat-and-mouse game. Critics praised the first two seasons, with season two scoring 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. The cast, including Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens, delivered 'mesmerising' performances.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge served as head writer for the first series, earning acclaim for her adaptation. The Daily Telegraph's Jasper Rees noted her 'style and verve', while the Mail on Sunday's Deborah Ross said the show makes viewers 'laugh while on the edge of your seat'. Later seasons saw writers Emerald Fennell, Suzanne Heathcote, and Laura Neal.

However, the final two seasons received mixed reviews. Season three scored 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, and season four dropped to 52%. The Guardian's Jack Seale remarked that the fourth season was 'out of new ideas'. Despite this, Killing Eve remains a hit, available on Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and Disney+.
