Emma and Matt Willis Stage Hot Tub Argument for ITV Show

Emma Willis and her husband Matt Willis have been married for eighteen years, yet they delivered a remarkably convincing performance during an awkward hot tub confrontation for their new ITV programme. The series, titled Celebrity Sabotage, challenges celebrities to sabotage unsuspecting members of the public by executing hilarious stunts.

Awkward Hot Tub Moment

In a sneak peek from the upcoming series, Emma and Matt received instructions from celebrity saboteurs Joel Dommett, Judi Love, Sam Thompson, and GK Barry. Their mission involved joining another couple in a hot tub and ruining their date night by staging a heated argument, creating an atmosphere so uncomfortable that the other pair would feel compelled to leave.

Emma and Matt quickly radiated palpable tension as they began their act. Directed by Sam Thompson, Matt started splashing Emma repeatedly, leading her to become visibly upset. She told her husband, 'You make me feel really stupid.' Matt replied, 'I'm only mucking around,' prompting one of the innocent contestants to interject, 'I know but it was a bit of a forceful flick Matt.'

Escalating Tensions

When Matt attempted to apologise, Emma retorted, 'No you're not sorry,' before forcefully splashing him back. Observing from the sidelines, Olivia Attwood, Judi Love, Sam Thompson, and Joel Dommett were overcome with laughter as the tensions escalated. The contestants soon asked, 'Would you like a minute in the hot tub alone?' to which Matt responded, 'We might need it.'

If the two men fail to detect anything suspicious, Emma and Matt could successfully win five thousand pounds for the prize pot. The new show is scheduled to air on Saturday, March 21.

Wedding After Rehab

This television appearance follows Matt Willis's recent revelation that he and Emma got married just three days after he left rehab. The TV presenters tied the knot in 2008 and share three children together. However, Matt, now forty-two, has admitted that their wedding day was overshadowed by his stint in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

Reflecting on the occasion, Matt stated, 'I shouldn't have been there really when I think about it.' The musician has been open about his struggles to maintain sobriety after rising to fame at just nineteen years old with his band Busted.

Substance Abuse Struggles

Matt entered rehab three times before turning twenty-five, including one month prior to marrying Emma, who is now forty-nine, in 2008. Emma had issued him an ultimatum regarding his substance abuse. Speaking emotionally on his podcast, On The Mend, Matt explained how he spiralled into a severe booze and drugs binge when Emma was abroad filming a television show weeks before their wedding.

'That two weeks she was away, I was worse than I've ever been,' he admitted, describing how his round-the-clock drinking left him fearing he was 'going to die.' Matt arrived to marry Emma clean and sober, with his drugs counsellor remaining by his side throughout the day.

'It was not the greatest of days for me. It was a weird thing getting married when you're scared,' he explained, adding that he managed to stay sober for the entire day despite providing a free bar and sambuca wedding favours for his guests. 'Everyone knew I'd just been out of rehab. Everyone knew what a mess I was. Like it had been quite apparent to everybody,' he said of his loved ones.
