Reality TV star Zara McDermott and former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson stepped out for a rare public appearance together, turning heads as they held hands at the prestigious Las Vegas Grand Prix last weekend.
A Stylish Couple at the Races
The couple made a striking pair, with each showcasing their distinct fashion sense. Louis Tomlinson opted for a bold, shiny silver tracksuit featuring eye-catching red piping, which he paired with silver trainers and circular Ray-Ban sunglasses.
His girlfriend, Zara McDermott, chose a more formal tailored dark blue denim suit. Her outfit included a shirt with wide sleeves that flared out at the bottom, cleverly pulled in at the waist with darts. She wore wide-legged jeans that nearly concealed her black pointed-toe heels. In a charming display of coordination, Zara had painted her nails red to match the accents on Louis' outfit.
Star-Studded Event and Racing Drama
The event in Paradise, Nevada, was filled with celebrity guests, including power couples and A-listers such as Beyoncé, Cynthia Erivo, and Catherine Zeta-Jones with Michael Douglas.
On the track, the racing action was intense. Max Verstappen sped to victory, while British favourite Lewis Hamilton finished in a disappointing 10th place. His position would have been even lower if not for the disqualification of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, whose cars failed to meet minimum skid wear measurements. McLaren issued an apology to its drivers, who would have finished in second and fourth place respectively.
From Boyband Fame to Solo Success
Prior to the Grand Prix, Louis Tomlinson performed on stage, continuing his musical career that began with phenomenal success in One Direction. The band, formed after their 2010 X Factor appearance, experienced popularity in America compared to Beatlemania before their 2016 split.
Since going solo, Tomlinson has released two albums, with one reaching number one on the UK Official Charts. He is set to release another album, titled How Did I Get Here?, in January.
A New Chapter in Love
Louis and Zara have been in a relationship since early 2025, going public with their romance via social media in August. Reports suggest Zara has moved into Louis' north London home, leaving behind the Fulham residence she shared with her ex-boyfriend, Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson. The couple parted ways in December 2024.
Despite rumours of a difficult separation, a source told the Daily Mail that there was "no scandal or fallout" between Zara and Sam, describing the split as the result of a challenging year where both focused on individual projects.
Louis has historically kept his relationships private. His previous long-term relationship was with Eleanor Calder, whom he dated from 2011 to 2015 before rekindling their romance in 2017. He had previously expressed his intention to marry her. Between relationships with Calder, Louis briefly dated Briana Jungwirth, with whom he shares a son, Freddie, born in 2016. Louis has made consistent efforts to keep his son out of the public eye.
