Tyson and Paris Fury Reveal Why Four Sons Share the Name Prince
Why Four of Tyson Fury's Sons Are All Named Prince

Tyson and Paris Fury have revealed the reasons behind their decision to give four of their seven sons the same first name: Prince. The couple, who have been together since their teenage years and married in 2008, share seven children. In keeping with Traveller tradition, the former two-time heavyweight world champion and his wife have named their boys in a way that has left many fans puzzled.

The Four Princes

The Fury children are Venezuela, 16; Prince John James, 14; Prince Tyson Fury II, nine; Valencia Amber, eight; Prince Adonis Amaziah, seven; Athena, four; and Prince Rico Paris Fury, two. The youngest, Rico, born in 2023, is a tribute to Tyson's late cousin Rico Burton, who was tragically killed in 2022. His middle name honors his mother, Paris.

The family's chaotic lifestyle has been documented in the Netflix show At Home With The Furys. During the series, viewers were confused by the fact that all four sons share the name Prince. Paris addressed this on the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast.

Paris Explains the Confusion

“The boys do all have the same first name. The boys are all called ‘Prince’,” Paris said, admitting it can be “really confusing, especially when you are talking to a doctor.” She explained how the name came about: “It’s because I was really high when I was giving birth to Prince. And he was going to be called John James all along. Very traditional, very nice. I had him and I looked at him and I thought, ‘You don’t look like a John James.’ And I was like, ‘Prince, he has to be a Prince, he’s my Prince.’ And then three days later I was like, ‘Oh, I named that baby Prince.’ So that’s how he got Prince.”

Tyson’s King and Prince Philosophy

Tyson, known as the ‘Gypsy King,’ previously said in a documentary that his sons are called Prince because they are not yet ready to become kings. “I’m a king and they’re princes until they earn their rightful name,” he explained. However, Paris downplayed this on the podcast, saying that when they had another boy, Tyson said, “Well you can’t call one a prince without the other. They’ve all got to be Prince.” She added, “And then that didn’t work either, and we ended up with four Princes. It’s very confusing and when you book a holiday as well they actually think you’re telling lies.”

New Life on the Isle of Man

The Fury family has recently moved to a new property on the Isle of Man, rumored to be worth £8 million. The island, which is not part of the UK, Great Britain, or the EU, has its own parliament and lower tax regime, with a higher income tax rate of 21% and a tax cap of £220,000, making it attractive for wealthy individuals. The couple relocated there late last year with their eight children, leaving their previous home in Morecambe.
