West End star Georgina Castle has embarked on an unconventional honeymoon, jetting off to the Maldives with her parents while her new husband remained in London due to work commitments. The 33-year-old actress, famed for roles in Mamma Mia!, Dirty Dancing, and Mean Girls, married fellow stage actor Simon Lipkin, 39, at the end of summer 2025.
A Honeymoon for Three
While Georgina Castle was able to escape for some winter sun, her husband Simon Lipkin was tied to his starring role as Fagin in the production of Oliver! on Shaftesbury Avenue. Instead of postponing, Georgina decided to join her parents, former British tennis number one and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Andrew Castle, 62, and her mother Sophia, for a luxurious holiday.
Sharing the details on Instagram in December 2025, Georgina humorously captioned a series of holiday snaps: "I crashed my parents’ romantic holiday and went on a honeymoon without my husband!!" She expressed her gratitude, adding, "I feel so incredibly lucky that I got to end the year like this & with family."
Sun, Sea, and Stage Schedules
The images from the trip showcased Georgina enjoying the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Maldives. She was seen flyboarding, swimming alongside marine life, and posing for a family photo in snorkelling gear with her parents. Addressing her absent husband directly in her post, she wrote, "Simon I can’t wait for us to do something amazing soon…with a few less sharks you’ll be relieved to hear."
The couple's wedding, which took place three months prior in the heart of London, was a celebration of their love for the city. Georgina previously shared that while a beach sunset is beautiful, "sometimes there’s nothing more romantic than the neons of a tube sign, old brickwork arches and the energy of London."
A Family of Performers
The newlyweds are both established figures in the theatre world, having both appeared in West End productions of Elf. Georgina recently starred in a musical adaptation of 50 First Dates at The Other Palace. Her father, Andrew Castle, is no stranger to the spotlight either, having reached the seventh week of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008 with professional partner Ola Jordan.
For now, Simon Lipkin continues his performances in the West End, while Georgina enjoys a unique post-wedding getaway, proving that family and career can sometimes blend in the most unexpected ways.
