Television personality and podcaster Vogue Williams has publicly confronted persistent speculation about the state of her marriage to Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, branding the gossip as 'baseless and cruel'.
Addressing the Rumours Head-On
The Dublin-born influencer, 40, is currently starring in the ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, a full decade after her husband, 37, entered the jungle in 2015. Meanwhile, Spencer is undertaking a demanding worldwide triathlon challenge, physically separating the couple.
In an interview with The Sun, Vogue expressed her frustration with the long-running rumours of a potential separation. She highlighted a particularly difficult period in June 2023, when the couple chose not to publicly mark their fifth wedding anniversary, which fuelled further speculation. The chatter intensified when Spencer departed from their joint podcast to concentrate on his own project, Untapped.
Vogue revealed the most hurtful aspect of the rumours is the potential impact on their three young children, who might overhear such talk at school.
'I'll Probably Not Bother Next Time'
When asked if her public rebuttal had finally quieted the gossip, Vogue gave a weary response. 'Of course not!' she stated. 'I'll probably not bother next time. You're just wasting your energy.'
She explained that she has reached a point in her life where only her own truth matters. 'I feel like I've hit a point in my life where it only matters what I know and what our truth is,' Vogue said. 'When you're in the public eye, you can kind of expect stuff like that. We're happy, our relationship is solid and we're having a great time, our kids are happy and that's all that matters.'
A Loving Tribute Amid the Distance
Demonstrating the true strength of their bond, Spencer Matthews recently shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram, openly missing his wife. The couple have been married since 2018.
Accompanying a photo of them kissing, he wrote: 'It's wild how much you can miss someone you've spoken to every single day for years. This is the longest we've gone without talking since we've been married, and I feel it more than I ever expected.'
He added that during tough moments in his triathlon challenge, he focuses on their impending reunion. 'I think about how incredible our reunion will feel in a couple of weeks and how amazing it will be to hold you and to be back together as a family,' he shared. 'You don't realise how much someone fills your world until the silence kicks in... I can't wait for the end of year we have planned!'
He concluded his loving message with a tribute to Vogue's performance on I'm A Celebrity, writing, 'So proud of you my beautiful darling. I'm watching you in there and, as expected, you're smashing it, as usual. Counting down the days.'
