Victoria Beckham Celebrates David's MLS Triumph Amid Family Feud
Victoria Beckham Praises David After MLS Win

Victoria Beckham has publicly praised her husband, football legend David Beckham, after his club Inter Miami clinched the Major League Soccer championship over the weekend. The 51-year-old fashion designer declared she was 'so proud' of her 50-year-old partner as the family flew to watch his team secure a 3-1 victory against Vancouver Whitecaps.

A Victory Marred by Absence

Sharing moments from the celebratory day on her Instagram, Victoria posted photos of herself posing with David and of the family gathered together. The images were once again notably missing their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, 26. The couple's estrangement from Brooklyn has deepened this year, with no contact reported since he missed David's birthday celebrations.

This football final, a crowning achievement in David's 12-year journey as a club owner since retiring, joins a long list of family events Brooklyn has not attended in 2024. These include multiple holidays and birthdays. For the big match, David was supported by his other children: sons Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14. Cruz's girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, also joined the celebrations.

Parallel Lives on Social Media

While his family celebrated the sporting triumph, Brooklyn Beckham took to his own Instagram on Saturday night, sharing a cooking tutorial on how to make French onion soup. This continues a pattern where Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, 30, have been absent from key Beckham family milestones.

The rift became particularly public when Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed David's 50th birthday party in May. He also did not attend his father's knighthood ceremony last month and avoided promoting his mother's Netflix documentary. Friends of the Beckhams revealed in July that brothers Cruz and Romeo had blocked both Brooklyn and Nicola on Instagram, a move believed to be in response to a birthday post for Harper that excluded them.

Faint Hopes and Family Heartache

Amid the ongoing feud, there have been small, poignant gestures. Earlier this week, Cruz shared a throwback photo from a 2021 family holiday featuring himself, Brooklyn, Romeo, and David, captioned 'Love you guys'. This is seen as a potential olive branch, though the brothers still do not follow each other online.

The situation is reportedly causing particular distress for the family's grandmothers. Victoria's mother, Jackie Adams, recently shared a video of her Christmas decorations, which clearly showed a personalised stocking for Brooklyn hanging alongside those for his siblings. Family friends say both Jackie and David's mother, Sandra, are 'very sad' about the rift, having been exceptionally close to Brooklyn in his early years.

A source close to the family stated, 'David and Victoria are making peace with not having Brooklyn around... But it’s the grandmothers. They adore Brooklyn... They’re not getting any younger and the cold truth is that nobody knows when they will see Brooklyn next.' The family was last seen all together at Christmas 2023, with the MLS victory highlighting both a professional high and a persistent personal strain for the Beckhams.
