Traitors Winner Stephen Libby Quits Job After BBC Win

Stephen Libby, the triumphant winner of the BBC's hit reality series The Traitors, has made a significant life change by resigning from his professional position following his television success. The thirty-two-year-old former cyber security consultant secured half of a substantial £95,750 prize fund after scheming his way to victory alongside fellow Traitor Rachel Duffy.

Prize Money to Fund Survival After Career Shift

During an appearance on ITV's This Morning with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Libby disclosed that he has already departed from his previous employment. When questioned by a viewer about whether he had received his winnings yet, he responded candidly about his financial plans.

"It's not in the account yet," Libby stated. "I'm not checking because I just want to get a nice surprise when it finally comes in. But yeah, not yet. Obviously, some new jumpsuits on the cards, and, I've left my job so, really, it's allowing me to just survive for the next wee while as well."

This revelation indicates that his share of approximately £47,875 will serve as essential support during this transitional period, rather than funding extravagant purchases.

Industry Insiders Predict Showbiz Success

Just days after his televised triumph, industry sources have suggested that Libby possesses all the necessary qualities for a flourishing entertainment career. His distinctive fashion sense and charismatic screen presence have reportedly made him a standout contestant.

A source informed The Sun: "Stephen has been a real breakout star of The Traitors and has all the ingredients to make it in showbiz. His fashion has been a real talking point and he’s clearly a good looking lad, who is articulate and charming."

The insider continued: "If he lands the right agent he could do very well out of The Traitors indeed. He’s the cast member you can see being on talent bookers’ list – you can see him on MasterChef, quiz shows and beyond."

Faithful to the Final Pact

The dramatic conclusion of the series saw Libby facing a critical decision at the final firepit. Despite having the opportunity to eliminate Rachel Duffy and claim the entire prize fund for himself, he remained loyal to their pre-established agreement.

Reflecting on that tense moment, Libby explained: "It was never on the cards for me to take. I was only standing at the final firepit because of Rachel. I made so many mistakes, I was embroiled in so many dramas and theories and Rachel was my rock."

He acknowledged experiencing a momentary "wobble" when considering whether Rachel might betray him, but ultimately maintained their alliance. "I didn't deserve that money any more than she did. I was never going to take the money at the end," he affirmed.

By honouring their pact and successively voting off fellow contestants Jade, Faraaz, and Jack, Libby and Duffy made television history as the first Traitors to jointly win the competitive series.

This strategic loyalty not only secured their financial reward but has now paved the way for potential new career pathways in the entertainment industry for the victorious contestant.
