Former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner has shared a terrifying health scare involving his wife, Amber, in a heartfelt and urgent social media post. The incident saw her rushed to hospital after a sudden and severe allergic reaction.
Skinner took to Instagram to detail the frightening ordeal, revealing that his wife's face began to swell alarmingly after she consumed a food she had eaten many times before. The situation escalated so rapidly that he was forced to dial 999 for an emergency ambulance.
A Frantic Race to Hospital
"Her face just blew up," Skinner explained in a video, his tone laced with concern. The reaction was so violent and unexpected that the couple had no time to locate their prescribed EpiPens, leaving them with no choice but to rely on the swift response of the emergency services.
He praised the NHS medics who arrived promptly, administering critical treatment before whisking Amber away to the nearest Accident & Emergency department for further care.
A Stark Warning to Others
Now that Amber is safely back home and recovering, Skinner used his platform to issue a crucial public warning. He emphasised the frightening unpredictability of allergies, stating that a food you've "eaten a million times" can suddenly trigger a life-threatening response.
"This is a message to everyone," he urged. "Please, please, please make sure you know where your EpiPens are. Have them on you at all times." His emotional plea highlighted the importance of being prepared, as every second counts during an anaphylactic episode.
The reality TV personality, known for his buoyant optimism, signed off with a sigh of relief, expressing his gratitude that his wife was now okay after the traumatic event.
