I'm A Celebrity's Scarlett Moffatt was left in floods of tears after receiving a call from home ahead of the ITV final, getting a huge surprise from her son. The telly star, who shot to fame on Gogglebox, has found herself in the final of the South Africa series spin-off alongside Adam Thomas, Sir Mo Farah, Harry Redknapp, and actor Craig Charles.
As the show prepares to come to an end, the famous faces who have been away from their loved ones received one last pick-me-up in the form of voice messages from home. In tonight's episode, a phone in the camp rings, with Scarlett instantly rushing to answer it. Upon answering, an automated message informs the campers that they have messages waiting.
Former Corrie star Craig was the first to receive his messages from his wife and children, followed by Sir Mo, who was greeted by his wife and four children. Soccer Aid star Harry Redknapp received a message from his beloved wife, Sandra, who said: 'Keep making us proud, and love you always and forever.' Waterloo Road star Adam instantly teared up when he heard his children's voices, adding: 'There's a magic in it.'
However, it was Scarlett who was in for the biggest treat. She received a message from her fiancé, Scott Dobinson, and their young son, Jude, who was heard in the background. Little Jude stole the show, telling Scarlett he loved her, which was the first time she had heard her son say this, leaving her in tears.
Earlier this week, Scarlett announced she and Scott were preparing to welcome their second child, having previously opened up about her struggles to conceive. Although Scarlett shared her news publicly this week, she had already told her campmates in their private WhatsApp group. She said: 'We honestly can't believe we're writing this... After everything, we feel unbelievably lucky to be able to say… our family is growing. One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he's going to be a big brother.' She added: 'And if there's one thing we know for certain, it's that he is going to be the most amazing big brother. We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock… Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible.'
While in the camp, which was recorded several months before the show aired, Scarlett told her fellow co-stars how she and Scott lost a baby as they tried for a second child. She emotionally said: 'We tried for a long time and had some losses, and it's not nice, is it? And because no one talks about it, you think something is wrong with you. You're like, why is it not happening? It's a hard one. After Jude was born, we tried again and got quite far on and miscarried, and I remembered Scott's mum and dad took Jude for the day, and me and Scott just laid in bed crying. It was awful. Because in our head, we were like, 'Oh, like, imagine them running downstairs at Christmas together'. You imagine it. When you lose a baby in that way, you're sort of mourning a life that you imagined. It's just really sad. We just have to be so grateful we have got ours.'
Tonight, viewers will see Scarlett and her fellow finalists take on the almighty Cyclone trial, which has been revamped so much it 'rips' the contestants' clothes off. After the task, Scarlett revealed that one of the men 'lost his trunks right at the beginning,' and it later transpired that Craig's 'trunk' was lost, as he was dressed as an elephant for the trial.
