Olympic champion Adam Peaty is set to marry Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, in a spectacular Christmas wedding at the historic Bath Abbey on December 27. The reception will follow at the luxurious Kin House in Wiltshire, a Georgian estate where weekend wedding packages start from £32,750.
Lavish Gift Registry and Family Strife
Guests have been browsing a lavish gift registry with items ranging from £23 to £1,896. High-end selections include a £995 mahogany table and an £800 Luna Home recliner chair. The list also features homeware from lifestyle brand Nkuku and a telling £350 Tutti Bambini baby chest changer, hinting at the couple's future family plans.
However, the celebrations are clouded by a painful family dispute. Adam's mother, Caroline Peaty, 59, has been banned from the ceremony. Despite her heartbreak, the former nursery manager from Uttoxeter has selected a gift from the registry and plans to send a card, though she fears it may go unopened.
A Star-Studded Guest List and Absent Relatives
The guest list is expected to include A-listers like David and Victoria Beckham. While the Ramsay family will attend in full force, the Peaty side will be thinly represented, with only Adam's sister, Bethany, confirmed.
Other Peaty relatives have cited financial constraints, with one telling The Sun they couldn't afford the country house accommodation while on Universal Credit. Some family members have expressed that Adam seems "ashamed" of his working-class roots and changed by fame.
Four Outfits and a Heated Disagreement
Before the fallout, Adam had offered to cover all his mother's wedding costs. Caroline revealed she would have needed four different outfits for the various wedding events. A disagreement arose over a cream dress Caroline had chosen, which Adam insisted was too close to white, a colour traditionally reserved for the bride.
Although she returned the cream dress, Caroline has kept a £452 gold two-piece ensemble, purchased with earnings from selling items on Vinted. With six weeks until the wedding, she remains hopeful for a reconciliation, stating, "If he changed his mind, I would go... I love him, he's still my little boy."
