Olly Murs has bravely spoken about the profound grief he still feels following the tragic death of his close friend and former Love Island co-host Caroline Flack. The singer admitted the pain remains raw years after the TV presenter took her own life in February 2020.
In an emotional interview, Murs revealed: "There's a great sadness that never leaves you when someone you care about goes like that." The 39-year-old star described Flack as "an incredible person" who brought joy to everyone around her.
The Bond That Never Faded
Murs and Flack formed a tight-knit friendship while presenting The Xtra Factor together in 2015. Their chemistry was undeniable, with fans often speculating about a potential romance between the pair - something both always denied.
"We had this amazing connection," Murs recalled. "She was like family to me. The laughter we shared, the support we gave each other through tough times - that doesn't just disappear."
A Pain That Lingers
Three years on from the tragedy, Murs confessed he still finds it difficult to process. "Some days it hits you out of nowhere," he shared. "You'll hear a song or see something that reminds you of them, and suddenly you're back in that dark place."
The Troublemaker hitmaker has become an outspoken advocate for mental health awareness since Flack's passing, urging fans to check on their loved ones and speak openly about their struggles.
Honouring Caroline's Legacy
Murs revealed he keeps Flack's memory alive through small, personal gestures. "I'll watch old clips of us together, listen to songs we loved," he said. "It's important to remember the happy times too."
The singer hopes that by sharing his ongoing grief, he can help others dealing with similar losses. "There's no right way to grieve," he emphasised. "But talking about it definitely helps."
