Singer and performer Nicole Scherzinger had her fans talking this Sunday after sharing a stunning series of throwback photos on Instagram. The 47-year-old former Pussycat Doll looked incredible in a plunging white bikini, showcasing her toned physique against the beautiful backdrop of Palawan in the Philippines.
Island Escape and Favourite Things
Nicole Scherzinger transported her followers to a tropical paradise with her latest social media post. The collection of snaps, captioned 'These are a few of my favorite things', showed the star fully embracing the natural beauty of her surroundings.
In the images, she was seen meditating on the beach, relaxing in the sea, and performing stretching exercises. The halterneck bikini top highlighted her ample cleavage, while the tiny bottoms drew attention to her impressively toned abs. In another shot from the set, Nicole sported a bright blue gym outfit for a leisurely walk along the shore.
Star-Studded New Project
This glamorous post comes hot on the heels of a major career announcement. Nicole has been confirmed to join the cast of Rebel Wilson's upcoming comedy film, 'Girl Group'.
The movie, which Rebel is writing, producing, and starring in, has been described by her as the 'ultimate girl power movie'. The cast is a veritable who's who of music, featuring Spice Girls icon Melanie C, All Saints' Shaznay Lewis, and Nicole's own Pussycat Dolls bandmate, Ashley Roberts. Actress Sheridan Smith is also on board.
The plot will see Rebel playing a pop diva who is kicked out of her group's reunion tour and subsequently sentenced by the courts to a community service order. Speaking about the project, Rebel teased, 'Ever since being a part of the Pitch Perfect franchise, I've always wanted to create something similar. Girl Group is just so fun and full of spirit that's ready to have you singing and dancing out of the cinema.'
Addressing the 'Diva' Claims
Nicole's sunny Instagram post also follows her recent decision to break her silence on being branded a 'diva'. This came after reports emerged that she kept fans waiting for an hour at her Royal Albert Hall show earlier this month.
The hitmaker expressed that she was 'devastated and horrified' by the incident, claiming she was unaware the audience had been waiting in their seats for so long. Despite a billed start time of 7.30pm and no support acts, Nicole was allegedly an hour late to the stage and did not offer an immediate explanation or apology to fans, some of whom had paid up to £150 for tickets.
It was reported that she sang just six songs before the interval, prompting some attendees to leave early. Nicole clarified her perspective, stating, 'It wasn’t until after I was done that I found out people had been sitting there for so long. I was devastated and I was horrified, 'cause I was like: "Oh my gosh, I would be frustrated as well if I were told to sit there for so long". I think they had to be in their seats for, like 7.15pm, or something, but I thought my show was due to start at 8pm.'
She concluded by thanking the audience for staying, adding, 'by the end, they were all up on their feet dancing with me'.
