Hollywood actor Joe Manganiello and his fiancée, television host Caitlin O'Connor, have officially left Los Angeles to return to their roots in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The couple, both originally from the Steel City, confirmed their relocation to the suburb of Mount Lebanon in an exclusive interview.
A Shared Hometown Connection
O'Connor, 36, explained to People magazine that the decision to move was deeply rooted in their shared upbringing. "I was born in L.A., but raised in Pittsburgh, so we're both from the same hometown," said the actress, known for her role in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. She emphasised that this common background is a cornerstone of their relationship, stating it's "what really connects us as a couple."
The pair, who have been together for over two years following Manganiello's split from Sofia Vergara, got engaged on June 24. They announced their engagement publicly last month. Despite their long tenure in Southern California—each having lived there for more than two decades—they felt the pull of home.
Embracing the Idyllic Pennsylvania Life
The couple have settled into the Mount Lebanon area, which O'Connor described as something out of a "postcard." She praised their new neighbourhood, calling it the most beautiful she's seen in Pittsburgh and labelling it "idyllic." Their return has allowed them to embrace local charms, including the wintry weather.
"I watched Joe shovel snow in our driveway for two-and-a-half hours yesterday," O'Connor revealed. "And it was the hottest thing I've ever seen." The couple are planning a big family Christmas celebration later this month, further cementing their homecoming.
Balancing Careers and a Global Lifestyle
Professionally, both will maintain their ties to major entertainment hubs. O'Connor confirmed they will continue to work out of Los Angeles and New York City. Their lives remain fast-paced; O'Connor noted they have visited over 70 cities in the last two years, collecting ornaments and art from their global travels.
O'Connor was recently in New York scouting wedding dresses for their upcoming nuptials. While they will always hold a "warm spot" for Southern California, O'Connor summarised their current sentiment perfectly: "It's beautiful to be back home together."
