Kyle Sandilands holidays in Dubai with drug smuggler friend

Shock jock Kyle Sandilands and his wife, Tegan Kynaston, are currently soaking up the sun during a luxurious holiday in Dubai, sharing their festive escapades on social media. The KIIS FM star and his partner have been pictured enjoying the upscale beachside locale with a group of high-profile friends, including a figure with a notorious past.

Beachside Revelry and Star-Studded Company

On Monday, Tegan Kynaston, 40, took to her Instagram Stories to post a series of glamorous snaps from the holiday. The mother-of-one showcased her figure in a striking embroidered bikini from the brand Bydee, which featured intricate beaded seahorse and crab motifs. Her husband, Kyle, 54, maintained his signature casual style in a loose black shirt paired with striped shorts and sneakers.

The couple were not alone. Joining them was convicted drug smuggler Simon Main and artist Tash Niche. The group was photographed relaxing in lounge chairs on the beach, sipping cocktails and pineapple drinks as they enjoyed the stunning waterfront views. Simon Main matched Kyle's aesthetic, dressed in a black T-shirt, shorts, and cap.

Kyle Sandilands' Defence of a Controversial Friend

The presence of Simon Main adds a controversial layer to the holiday. Main, a nightlife identity known to be close to Sandilands and who served as the radio king's best man at his 2023 wedding to Tegan, has a colourful history. In 2000, he was jailed in Italy for his role in an attempt to smuggle 333,000 ecstasy pills, worth an estimated $10 million.

Sandilands has previously been vocal in his defence of his friend. On his wedding day, the host told the Daily Mail, "These are my friends. My mate did something stupid 25 years ago. What, he has to be condemned for the rest of his life?" He added, "[Main] gets embarrassed for me and I said, 'I don't give a f**k.' My friends are my friends and they're the most honest, solid people I've ever met."

Since his release from prison in 2004, Main's life has remained eventful. The former Scots College student, who once dated actress Nicollette Sheridan and worked as an assistant to Liza Minnelli, returned to Sydney. There, he managed a Kings Cross escort agency and later ran his own operation from a limousine infamously nicknamed the 'Booty Bentley'.

A Festive Season of Celebrations

The Dubai trip continues a festive period of celebrations for the couple. Just last month, in December, Tegan celebrated her 40th birthday with a wild, western-themed party at Sun Ranch in Byron Bay. That event was attended by notable guests including Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim and his girlfriend Sarah Budge.

Sandilands and Main's friendship has been documented over the years, with the pair frequently photographed lunching, partying, and holidaying together, including a trip to Spain back in 2015. Their current Dubai getaway underscores the radio host's long-standing loyalty to his inner circle, regardless of their past transgressions.
