A lottery winner has come forward to claim a £1 million prize just hours before it was due to expire. Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, confirmed it received a claim for the Lotto prize from the draw on 1 November 2025.
The ticket-holder, from the South Gloucestershire area, matched five of the six main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win the life-changing sum. The claim was made on Wednesday, with the final deadline of midnight Thursday, 30 April looming.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Adviser at Allwyn, said: “To receive a claim for this life-changing £1 million Lotto prize in the final hours before the final deadline is absolutely extraordinary.” He added that the operator had been searching for the winner and was thrilled to now support them.
The claim will now undergo validation to ensure the integrity of the game. Subject to checks, the winner will be paid at an appointment with an adviser. The winner may choose to remain anonymous.
This is not the first last-minute claim in the region. In 2014, James Wilson from Bradley Stoke, Bristol, found an old EuroMillions ticket in his wallet the day before it expired, winning £51,232.90.
Meanwhile, a separate £1 million EuroMillions prize from the 4 November 2025 draw remains unclaimed. The winning code is HPCF58869, and the deadline is midnight on Sunday, 3 May 2026.
