Reality television icon and business mogul Kim Kardashian ushered in the New Year with bold fashion choices in Aspen, Colorado, following a reportedly amicable family Christmas with her former husband, Kanye 'Ye' West.
A Daring New Year's Eve Ensemble
On Monday night, the 45-year-old Skims founder shared an Instagram slideshow finally revealing the ultra-sheer black dress she wore to celebrate New Year's Eve. The eye-catching garment was a black metal-mesh design from Ludovic de Saint Sernin's AW/24 collection, featuring a heavily bedazzled bust line.
The crystal detailing on the backless creation took its inspiration from the late photographer Robert Mapplethorpe's famed 1985 work, 'Orchid'. Kardashian, with intentionally dishevelled 'bedhead' hair, paired the sexy gown with what appeared to be a genuine black fur shawl for a star-studded dinner at the Matsuhisa restaurant.
This fur choice carried a notable history. Back in 2012, the star was famously flour-bombed by a demonstrator and called a 'fur hag' at a fragrance launch. However, her former PR representative, Sheeraz Hasan, has since alleged the incident was an 'inside job for publicity'.

After the dinner, Kardashian changed into a second striking outfit for an impromptu party. She opted for a white mesh turtleneck dress layered over a matching bodysuit, again accessorising with a furry coat, to attend actress Kate Hudson's last-minute New Year's Eve bash.
The gathering, held at Hudson's parents' 70-acre Old Snowmass estate, was a casual affair. 'This was not a planned party,' Hudson told Variety. 'It just happened. It's fabulous. It was fun. Everyone just showed up.' The guest list was a who's who of celebrities, reportedly including Bella Hadid, Anya Taylor-Joy, Elon Musk, and Lewis Hamilton.
Prior to the New Year festivities, Kardashian's focus was firmly on family. According to reports from TMZ, she reunited with her third ex-husband, Kanye West, for Christmas. The former couple, who share four children, were said to be 'cordial' with one another as they celebrated with their children: North, 12; Saint, 10; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 6.
The outlet noted that West, 47, 'has been really working on himself' following significant backlash over various scandals. As part of their divorce settlement, finalized in 2021 after six years of marriage, West reportedly pays Kardashian $200,000 per month in child support under a 20/80 custody arrangement.
