Kerry Katona Fears 'Shoe to Drop' Despite Happy Home Life with Paolo
Kerry Katona: 'I'm Waiting for the Shoe to Drop'

Kerry Katona, 45, has confessed she is "waiting for the shoe to drop" despite feeling content in her blended family with partner Paolo Margaglione, 34. The former Atomic Kitten star opened up to BBC presenter Dilly Carter on the Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, admitting that although her home can be "carnage" at times, she "wouldn't have it any other way."

Blended Family Chaos

Kerry is mother to daughters Molly and Lilly from her first marriage to Brian McFadden, Heidi and Max from her relationship with ex Mark Croft, and DJ, whom she shared with her late husband George Kay. Paolo has two young daughters from a previous relationship, who now join Kerry's children on weekends.

The singer explained: "My elder two have moved out, I've got rid of two and gained two at two and four, so Friday to Monday is just pure carnage in the house. It's just chaotic, and I forgot what it's like having toddlers in the house." She added that she likes to retreat to her bedroom when the mess becomes overwhelming, but insists she "wouldn't have it any other way."

Fear of Happiness

Despite describing her home environment as "loving" and feeling more settled than ever, Kerry heartbreakingly admitted she still has an overriding fear that something will go wrong. "Everything is going so well for me, and the emotional support that I'm getting from people... I'm not used to that. So I'm kind of waiting for the shoe to drop," she revealed.

Dilly Carter responded with understanding: "Sometimes you feel like if everything is going so right, when is it going to go wrong?"

Relationship Journey

Kerry and Paolo, who met on E4's Celebs Go Dating last year, are celebrating their one-year anniversary with a trip to Chester Races. However, Kerry emphasised that their relationship has required hard work behind the scenes. In her new! Magazine column, she shared: "It might look like we fell in love quickly on TV but we saw each other a hell of a lot off camera. It feels like 12 years."

She continued: "People think it's all romantic and it's all rainbows and it isn't. It's real life. It's just a relationship that you've got to work at, but it's a relationship we'll want forever."

Kerry Katona is set to appear on Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 from 10am on May 3.
