I'm A Celeb Viewers Blast Kelly Brook For 'Fake Laugh' During Eddie Kadi's Emotional Story
Kelly Brook's 'fake laugh' criticised by I'm A Celeb viewers

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers have launched a scathing critique of Kelly Brook, accusing the former model of deploying a 'fake' and 'patronising' laugh during an emotional campfire story from comedian Eddie Kadi. The incident unfolded during Sunday night's episode on ITV, just before Eddie, 42, became the second celebrity to be voted out of the Australian jungle.

An Emotional Story Met With Suspicious Giggles

During a quiet moment in camp, Eddie opened up to campmates including rapper Aitch, actress Ruby Wax, and Kelly Brook, 46, about his upbringing and path into comedy. He shared poignant details about his father, who emigrated from Congo with dreams of his son pursuing a traditional career like medicine or law.

Eddie recounted his father's initial reluctance, describing how he looked 'bored' during his first major comedy award win. The punchline came when his father finally gave his blessing after calculating the potential earnings from a 400-strong audience. 'Son, this is a great career! You have my blessing,' Eddie recalled him saying.

However, fans watching at home found their focus pulled from the heartfelt tale by Kelly Brook's reaction. She was seen frequently giggling throughout Eddie's monologue, a response that quickly sparked a negative reaction on social media.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, audiences did not hold back in their criticism of Brook's demeanour. One viewer posted: 'Kelly! That was such a fake laugh.' Another agreed, writing: 'Kelly’s laugh couldn’t be any more fake and patronising.'

The sentiment was widely echoed. A third comment read: 'Her sarcastic laughing has no place there when Eddie is telling an emotional story,' highlighting a perceived lack of sincerity during a vulnerable moment for the comedian.

Not the First Controversy for Brook in Camp

This is not the first time Kelly Brook's behaviour has come under fire during this series. Earlier, she faced criticism from fellow campmate Jack Osbourne's sister, Kelly Osbourne.

The clash occurred after Brook struggled to gut a fish, with Jack Osbourne, 40, offering to help. Brook later claimed to camera that Jack had 'elbowed' her aside 'like a caveman.' When preparing an eel in a subsequent episode, her dramatic gagging and retching prompted Jack to advise her to 'breathe through her nose.'

Kelly Osbourne, 41, launched a fierce defence of her brother on Instagram, calling Brook 'performative' and a 'bully.' She stated the model's 'over-dramatics' triggered her protective instincts.

Eddie Kadi's Jungle Exit

The episode concluded with Eddie Kadi's departure from the jungle. He found himself in the bottom two alongside model Vogue Williams before hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced he had received the fewest public votes.

Many fans expressed disappointment, calling Eddie one of the camp's most 'underrated' members. In his exit interview, Eddie reflected on how the experience had 'changed his life,' giving him a deeper connection to his Congolese heritage.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues Monday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
