Julia Morris Dismisses Robert Irwin Bachelor Rumours: 'I'd Be Shocked'
Julia Morris on Robert Irwin Bachelor Rumours

Speculation that wildlife presenter Robert Irwin is set to join the next season of The Bachelor US has been firmly dismissed by his I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! co-host, comedian Julia Morris.

Morris Casts Doubt on Reality TV Romance

In a recent episode of the Confessions of a Reality Star podcast, the 57-year-old comedian shared her strong belief that the 22-year-old son of the late Steve Irwin would not put his private life on display in such a way. "I don't believe that he shares his personal life in that way," Morris stated, adding weight to her argument by referencing the very public nature of his family's life and grief.

"If you live such a public existence... and have to share your lifetime grief with pretty much every person that you cross paths with... I think romance surely is something that needs to be behind closed doors," she elaborated. Morris concluded emphatically, "I would be so shocked to my very foundations if I ever saw that happen."

Irwin's Coy Response Fuels Speculation

The rumours gained traction following Robert Irwin's successful stint on Dancing With The Stars US, which significantly boosted his profile with American audiences. When approached by E! News back in October to address the chatter, Irwin was notably evasive.

While he denied being officially signed up, he left the door open to the possibility. "Stranger things have happened... who knows," he said in an Instagram video, teasingly adding, "We'll see." He also joked, "You know what? I want to do it even more now!"

A New Romance Behind the Scenes?

Interest in Irwin's love life has been further piqued by his recent association with American actress Xochitl Gomez, 19. Last month, just before his Dancing With The Stars victory, Gomez was spotted backstage gifting him a large bouquet and sharing an affectionate hug.

The pair first sparked dating rumours earlier this year when they performed an intimate Jive together for the show's 20th-anniversary special, with viewers noting their apparent on-screen chemistry. This comes after Irwin's split from long-term girlfriend Rorie Buckey in February 2024.

In a November interview on Nine's Today show, Irwin had confessed there was "no one special" in his life at the time and described navigating dating in the public eye as "an interesting world." The recent sightings with Gomez suggest his relationship status may have since changed, further complicating the narrative around a potential Bachelor appearance.
