Joe Alwyn Steps Out in London After Taylor Swift's Breakup Comments
Joe Alwyn seen after Taylor Swift's split revelations

Actor Joe Alwyn has been seen in public for the first time since his ex-partner, global superstar Taylor Swift, made rare and candid comments about the end of their six-year relationship. The 34-year-old was photographed enjoying a low-key family outing in North London on Sunday.

A Casual Family Stroll in the Capital

The 'Hamnet' star was pictured taking a stroll with his mother, Elizabeth, while also pushing a young child in a pram. Alwyn, who has four brothers, opted for a casual look, wearing a bomber jacket and jeans. He kept a discreet profile, shielding his eyes behind aviator sunglasses and with the hood of his jacket pulled up. Following their walk, the trio visited a local cafe, where they were seen chatting and enjoying a cup of tea.

This sighting comes in the wake of Swift's new disclosures in her Disney+ documentary, The End Of An Era. In the film, the 36-year-old singer-songwriter opened up about the split, which occurred in April 2023, and expressed frustration with men who made her feel like she's 'not a real human being.' For many months, details surrounding their breakup were scarce, leading to widespread speculation among fans.

Swift Reveals Split Timeline and Tour Struggles

In the documentary, Swift finally offered clarity on the difficult period. She revealed she endured 'two breakups' during the first half of her record-breaking Eras Tour. This confirms that she and Alwyn parted ways sometime between the tour's kick-off on March 17, 2023, and when the news became public in early April. The second breakup referenced is her brief fling with musician Matty Healy in the summer of 2023.

'My personal life was hard,' Swift confessed in the documentary. 'I went though two breakups in the first half of this tour and that's a lot of breakups. The show was what gave me purpose and what I could use to get me out of bed.' She added a pointed comparison: 'Men will let you down, the Eras Tour never will.'

The singer also connected this emotionally turbulent time directly to the creation of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which dropped in April 2024. 'The Tortured Poets Department is like this purge of just everything, everything bad that I felt for two years,' she explained, describing feelings of isolation and dehumanisation in her personal relationships.

Moving On: A New Chapter with Travis Kelce

Swift's life has taken a decidedly happier turn since those difficult months. She is now in a high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs American football star Travis Kelce. The pair began dating in the autumn of 2023, became engaged in August 2025, and multiple reports suggest they will tie the knot on June 13, 2026.

Interestingly, the documentary credits Swift's mother, Andrea, with playing a key role in the romance. Andrea revealed that after seeing headlines about Kelce's attempt to give Taylor a friendship bracelet with his phone number at her Kansas City concert, she decided to investigate. 'I called up my resident expert on the Chiefs, my cousin Robin,' Andrea recalled. 'I said, 'Tell me about this guy Travis Kelce,' and she goes, 'Oh my God he's the nicest guy and he really loves his mom.' I went, 'Ding ding ding.''

Andrea then encouraged her initially hesitant daughter to be open to the connection. Swift admitted, 'I had been very non-athlete... But you called me up and were like, 'Hey I know you're going to not react well to this but there's a guy...' You said something to the effect of, 'You've gotta start doing something different.'' The rest, as they say, is history.
