Joan Collins, 92, dazzles at Christmas carol concert

Dame Joan Collins turned heads with her remarkably youthful appearance as she attended The Fayre Of St James' Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday evening. The legendary English actress, who celebrated her 92nd birthday earlier this year, demonstrated her timeless glamour while supporting The Quintessentially Foundation & The Firefly Project at St James Church.

A Glamorous Evening for Charity

The Dynasty icon made a stunning entrance in an elegant green velvet dress that perfectly complemented her age-defying looks. She was accompanied by her husband of over two decades, Percy Gibson, who at 60 years old has been her longest-lasting marital partner. The producer and actor stood proudly beside his wife as they posed for photographs at the charitable event.

Collins and Gibson weren't the only notable faces in attendance. The star-studded gathering included distinguished English actors Richard E. Grant, aged 68, and Dominic West, 56, both looking equally dapper in their formal attire. The event brought together London's elite for an evening of festive carols and philanthropy.

A Marriage That Defies Convention

Joan Collins's relationship with Percy Gibson has consistently captured public attention, not least because of their 32-year age difference. When questioned about their age gap in interviews, the actress has famously dismissed concerns with her characteristic wit, stating: 'If he dies, he dies.'

The couple marked their 20th wedding anniversary last year with a lavish, celebrity-filled celebration at the prestigious Claridge's hotel. Gibson, who originally hails from Peru, has established himself as a respected Hollywood producer, best known for his work on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Family Life and Previous Relationships

Dame Joan Collins's family story includes both joy and tragedy. She has three children: Katy Kass, 53, from her marriage to third husband Ron Kass, and two older children, Tara and Alexander Newly, from her first marriage to Anthony Newly.

Her daughter Katy has faced significant health challenges throughout her life. At just eight years old, she was involved in a horrific road accident that left her in a coma for 47 days with serious head injuries and a broken collarbone. Doctors initially feared she might not survive, and the incident resulted in permanent brain injuries.

More recently, in 2012 when Katy was 41, she suffered a serious fall in the foyer of her mother's Hollywood apartment building. The accident resulted in a broken eye socket that required emergency treatment at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills, though she fortunately made a full recovery.

Collins's romantic history has been well-documented over the decades. Her first marriage was to Irish actor Maxwell Reed in 1956, though the union lasted less than a year. She subsequently became engaged to Warren Beatty in 1960, but the relationship ended due to his alleged infidelities.

Her 1963 marriage to actor-singer Anthony Newley produced two children before ending in divorce. She then wed former Beatles manager Ron Kass in 1972, who fathered her daughter Katy. Her fourth marriage to singer Peter Holm lasted just three years and caused a rift with her sister Jackie, who disapproved of the relationship.

Now happily settled with Percy Gibson, Collins humorously noted to Jonathan Ross in 2020 that her current marriage has lasted as long as her previous four marriages combined, proving that sometimes the fifth time really is the charm.
