Singer Jess Glynne has publicly criticised ITV producers following the early exit of her girlfriend, former footballer Alex Scott, from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, alleging they failed to give Scott sufficient airtime to showcase her true character.
Jungle Exit and Social Media Outburst
Alex Scott, the 41-year-old former Lioness, became the first contestant to be eliminated from the jungle during Friday night's episode after spending 14 days in the camp. Shortly after the broadcast, Jess Glynne, 36, took to her Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt tribute to her partner.
In her post, the Hold My Hand singer did not hold back her feelings towards the show's bosses. She wrote, 'My woman might be out far earlier than she ever deserved, but I'm so unbelievably proud of her.' Glynne then made a pointed remark, stating, 'She didn't get the airtime to show how incredible she really is, and trust me, this is only the beginning.'
A Personal Crisis Revealed
In the same candid social media message, Jess Glynne revealed a deeply personal and serious reason for her absence from the show's iconic bridge to greet Scott after her eviction. She explained that her mother had suffered a 'major stroke and underwent brain surgery' in recent weeks.
'It's been a really serious, life-altering time for my family and I've had to stay close to home,' Glynne shared. She concluded her emotional note by saying, 'I can't wait to have her back by my side.'
Consequently, the Football Focus presenter was met by her friend, Regan Coleman, who accompanied her back to her hotel, where Scott was later seen becoming overwhelmed with emotion.
Alex Scott's Post-Eviction Reflections
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec immediately after her exit, Alex Scott appeared in good spirits, exclaiming, 'I'm free! It feels strange and doesn't feel real. Now I'm like, "Oh, I'm out."'
When asked if she was disappointed to be the first one voted out, she insisted she was not. 'Oh no! It has been an incredible experience and mentally it has been tough but I am so glad I got to do it with so many amazing campmates,' Scott said. She highlighted the strong bonds and laughter shared within the camp.
In a lighter moment, Scott was shown a clip of her smuggling salt into the jungle in her sock, a contraband item. Laughing, she admitted, 'I don't know how many I took in, I just put them in my sock.' She confirmed that her campmates were aware of her secret seasoning.
She also revealed the worst part of her jungle experience, jokingly blaming campmate Martin Kemp for a persistent hygiene issue. 'The toilet seat situation, the smell is awful and someone keeps leaving the seat up, but we can't say anything because he is a national treasure,' she explained.
Before leaving, Scott named fellow contestant Shona as her pick to win the series, stating that a victory would give her a significant confidence boost. She also mentioned Ginge and Aitch as strong contenders for the final.
