Former Love Island champion Jack Fincham has confirmed his return to rehabilitation for treatment of drink and drug addiction, following a public admission of relapse and severe financial hardship. The 33-year-old reality television personality, who shot to fame after winning the 2018 series alongside ex-partner Dani Dyer, revealed last week that he had "spiralled" back into substance abuse after a night out in December, despite previously being clean and sober.
A Lifeline Offered Amid Financial Despair
Just days after confessing he had only £20 to his name and "nothing in the bank" – a situation that made affording rehab seem impossible – care provider Steps Together stepped in to offer him a place. The treatment programme is scheduled to commence on Monday, providing Fincham with a crucial opportunity to address his addictions.
The Relapse and Its Consequences
Fincham explained that he believed he had "won the battle" against his demons, which led him to go out for a drink. This decision quickly proved disastrous, culminating in him being photographed kissing a woman, an incident he claims not to remember and describes as "mortifying." The woman was identified as MAFS UK bride Leisha, while Fincham has had an on-and-off relationship with TOWIE's Chloe Brockett since 2019.
In a candid interview with The Sun, Fincham admitted, "Since then I have done drugs, I have done laughing gas." He expressed deep regret, stating, "I feel like an idiot. I am a 33-year-old man. I should be settled down, married."
Commitment to Recovery
Now determined to turn his life around, Fincham has vowed to work diligently during his two-month rehabilitation stint. According to reports, the treatment, valued at approximately £32,000, will involve therapy sessions six days a week combined with physical exercise under the guidance of a boxing coach.
"I know I'm lucky. I can't stuff this up. I am going to work hard and not let anybody down," Fincham asserted. Steps Together deputy CEO Steve Jones echoed this sentiment, confirming, "Jack wants to get better and we want to help him." The care provider offers a range of therapies, including specialised programmes for drug and alcohol addiction alongside behavioural therapy.
A Troubled Legal History
Fincham's struggles have been accompanied by multiple encounters with the law in recent years:
- In July 2021, he was questioned by police after being reported for acting suspiciously in a South London car park early one morning. No charges were filed as authorities determined no crime had been committed.
- March 2024 saw Fincham convicted of driving under the influence of drugs. He received a driving ban until October 2029 and was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service.
- Dog-related incidents have also plagued him. In March 2025, he successfully appealed a six-week prison sentence after his Cane Corso dog, Elvis, bit a runner in September 2022. The victim accepted an apology, and conditions were imposed, including muzzling the dog in public.
- However, a second incident in Grays, Essex, in June 2024, where his dog was out of control, led to further charges. Fincham was ordered to pay a total of £3,680, comprising a £2,000 contribution to kennelling costs, a £961 fine, and £200 in compensation to the victim, Mr Sudell. His defence noted he "has no savings," and payments were set at £400 per month. Additional court orders mandated that the dog be muzzled and leashed in public and not left alone with anyone under 16.
