Reality television personality and entrepreneur Adam Frisby has bravely spoken out about a devastating wave of homophobic hatred targeted at him and his fiancé, Jamie Corbett, following their happy announcement that they are expecting a child via surrogacy.
The couple, who got engaged in 2022, shared their exciting journey to parenthood with their followers, expecting an outpouring of support. Instead, they were met with a horrific barrage of online vitriol and false, damaging accusations.
"We've been called every name under the sun," Frisby revealed, detailing how trolls maliciously labelled them as "child abusers" and even "sex traffickers." The abuse escalated to the point where the couple felt their safety was compromised, with Frisby adding, "They were saying they knew where we lived."
Frisby, a founding force behind the fashion brand In The Style, expressed his heartbreak that a moment of pure joy was so violently overshadowed by bigotry. He emphasised that the hateful comments were a direct attack on their sexuality, stating the trolls were "using the fact that we are two men having a baby against us."
Despite the pain, the couple is determined to not let the abuse dim their happiness. They are focused on the positive support they have also received and are looking forward to welcoming their newborn son later this year, vowing to be "the best dads."
The incident highlights the persistent issue of online homophobia and the specific abuse often faced by same-sex couples on the path to parenthood.
