Speculation surrounding a potential jungle romance between rapper Aitch and EastEnders actress Shona McGarty has been firmly addressed by their fellow I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmates. The rumours, which have swirled since their time in the Australian outback, have now been labelled a 'fromance' rather than a romance.
Vogue Williams Weighs In On The 'Fromance'
Weighing in on the chatter, former campmate and podcast host Vogue Williams offered her perspective. Speaking on her show, she carefully navigated the topic, stating she believed the pair "got on very well" but saw no clear signs of a romantic connection.
"I don't know if it's anything romantic, because I don't know if either of them are in that situation to get into anything romantic," Williams explained. She concluded her thoughts by adding, "There was nothing, like, romantic about them in there." Her comments follow similar insights from another campmate, who suggested the pairing was unlikely from the start.
Ruby Wax Reveals Shona McGarty's 'Type'
Comedian and fellow contestant Ruby Wax had previously hinted that the speculated relationship was a non-starter. Wax claimed that the 34-year-old actress had confided in her about her preferences, which didn't align with the 25-year-old musician.
"He's not her type at all," Wax told The Mirror. "She said she likes hunky, bigger men so that she feels female, so he wasn't on the list at all." Despite this, Wax admitted she had harboured hopes for a jungle wedding, joking about living "in the forest forever" with their future children.
She summarised the dynamic simply: "I think he just liked her. She's into big guys." With both former campmates now casting doubt on the rumours, the speculated 'romance' appears to have been more of a close friendship forged under the unique pressures of the jungle.
A Stronger Jungle Bond Endures
While one potential relationship is ruled out, another has been powerfully reinforced. The series highlighted the enduring bond between Vogue Williams and her husband, Spencer Matthews. Separated while Williams was in the jungle and Matthews undertook a gruelling series of seven triathlons across seven continents for charity, their support for each other was a standout story.
Williams was visibly emotional when a letter from Matthews was read aloud in camp. After his successful challenge, which set two new world records for male suicide prevention charity James's Place, Williams took to social media to express her pride.
"I'm so proud of him - it was such a tough thing and he did it," she said. The episode served as a poignant contrast to the fleeting rumours, showcasing a deep, real-world connection that survived the jungle experience.
