In a festive display of family bonding, supermodel Heidi Klum was seen embarking on a significant pre-Christmas shopping expedition in New York City this week. The German-born star was accompanied by her two eldest children, 20-year-old Henry and 21-year-old Leni.
A Stylish Family Outing in the Big Apple
The trio were spotted laden with large shopping bags from the popular clothing retailer, The Frankie Shop, just days before the Christmas holiday. Heidi Klum, aged 52, showcased her signature style in a chic beige sweatsuit layered under a shaggy, cream-coloured faux fur coat. She added a blue shirt beneath her outer layers and completed the look with sneakers, a tan baseball cap, dark sunglasses, and striking long, almond-shaped red nails.
Her children opted for a more relaxed aesthetic. Henry kept it casual in jeans and a black puffer jacket, while Leni sported an oversized black bomber jacket paired with matching wide-leg trousers.
Family Dynamics and Festive Celebrations
Heidi Klum is also mother to son Johan, 19, and daughter Lou, 16, from her previous marriage to British singer Seal, 62. Seal also helped raise Leni, who is Klum's daughter from a prior relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, 75. Klum was married to Seal from 2005 until 2014 and is now married to 36-year-old Tokio Hotel musician Tom Kaulitz.
The model recently took to Instagram, sharing romantic holiday snaps with her husband Kaulitz to her 12.7 million followers. The photos, captioned "Happy Holidays ❤️," featured the couple sharing a kiss inside New York's Grand Central Station and posing in front of a glowing Christmas tree.
Henry Klum on Following His Mother's Footsteps
In a new cover story for Elle Germany, Henry Klum opened up about his burgeoning modelling career and the influence of his famous mother. He revealed that she has "instilled a lot of confidence in him" to pursue a path in fashion, a shift from his previous pastime of spending hours "hunched over his computer" playing video games.
"The main piece of modelling advice he was given by his mom was 'to pay attention to my posture,'" Henry told the magazine. He elaborated, "I like video games and used to constantly sit hunched over the computer. But my mother also instilled a lot in me regarding self-confidence."
Heidi Klum added her own perspective, stating, "I'm a positive person. I believe you can work on your attitude towards yourself and life. Sure, I sometimes doubt myself and don't like myself. But I know how to get back to positive energy." Earlier this year, Henry praised both his parents as an "inspiration," telling the Daily Mail, "Anything that I do, [my parents are] always so supportive."
