Golden Globes Host Nikki Glaser Roasted for Mispronouncing Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Glaser's Priyanka Chopra Jonas Name Blunder at Golden Globes

Comedian Nikki Glaser has found herself at the centre of online ridicule following a significant on-air blunder while hosting the 2026 Golden Globes. The 41-year-old presenter awkwardly mispronounced the name of actress and presenter Priyanka Chopra Jonas during the live broadcast from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

A Cringeworthy On-Air Mistake

While introducing the Bollywood superstar as a presenter, Glaser mistakenly referred to her as Priyanka Chopra "Jones" instead of her correct married surname, Jonas. The error was immediately picked up by sharp-eared viewers, who took to social media platform X to express their disbelief and mock the host.

Fans were quick to question the slip-up, with one user writing, "Did she really say Priyanka Chopra JONES instead of JONAS?" Another echoed the sentiment, asking, "Who is 'Priyanka Chopra Jones?'" The mistake proved particularly awkward given that Chopra Jonas was in attendance at the ceremony with her husband, Nick Jonas, of the globally famous Jonas Brothers.

Star-Studded Red Carpet and Glamour

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 43, commanded attention on the red carpet in a stunning midnight blue gown that evoked the glamour of Old Hollywood. The off-the-shoulder design featured a two-tiered skirt and a lamé top, accessorised with a dazzling diamond necklace. Her appearance alongside her husband was a picture of affection, with the couple hardly keeping their hands off one another.

Nick Jonas, 33, who previously won a Golden Globe for his song "Home" from the animated film Ferdinand, looked dapper in a classic suit. The pair's loved-up display provided a stark contrast to the hosting gaffe that would follow.

Glaser's Controversial Monologue

The name blunder was not the only contentious moment of Nikki Glaser's hosting stint, which marked her second consecutive year fronting the ceremony. Her opening monologue took direct aim at former President Donald Trump's Justice Department.

Glaser joked that the department deserved a "Golden Globe for Best Editing" following the release of heavily redacted documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case in November 2025. She quipped to the audience of A-listers, "So many A-listers - and by A-listers, I mean people who are on 'a list' that has been heavily redacted."

The comedian also targeted actor Leonardo DiCaprio with a joke about his dating history, referencing his reputation for relationships with younger women. "The most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30," she said, before half-heartedly apologising for the "cheap" joke.

While Glaser's monologue aimed for edgy humour, it is the simple mispronunciation of a major star's name that has dominated the post-ceremony conversation, serving as a reminder of the high-pressure pitfalls of live television hosting.
