Fans of The Chainsmokers have been given a beautiful glimpse into the tropical wedding of member Drew Taggart and his new wife, Brazilian model Marianne Fonseca. The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony late last year, have finally shared videos and photos from their special day on Instagram this week.
A Beachside Dream Ceremony
The 34-year-old American musician and producer and the 35-year-old swimsuit model exchanged vows in a breathtaking beachside setting in Costa Rica. In the newly released images, the pair are seen sharing a kiss beneath a stunning floral arch adorned with white roses. For the ceremony, Marianne chose a classic, fitted ivory gown that was strapless and featured an elegant long train.
The celebration continued long into the night with friends and family, where the couple cut a tiered wedding cake to the cheers of their guests. For the reception, Marianne switched her bridal look, changing into a short, playful mini-dress to party in style.
Planning from Afar and a Perfect Day
In a heartfelt caption accompanying the photos, Marianne expressed their joy, writing that people often call your wedding the best day of your life, and for them, that was certainly true. She revealed that they had first envisioned getting married in Costa Rica after a visit years prior, but the reality of the day exceeded all their expectations.
"We took many leaps of faith planning this wedding from afar (with incredible planners) and every detail we imagined truly came to life," she shared. The couple also posted a fun video of their travel to the destination, with Marianne joking that she "forced" Drew to participate in a trend, and he did it for his wife, captioning it, "Welcome to married life babe."
From Engagement to "I Do"
The couple first announced they were married in a simple but excited Instagram post last December that read, "WE ARE MARRIED!" Their engagement was confirmed a year earlier when Drew posted snaps from their engagement party at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, captioned "Hell Yea!" alongside a diamond ring emoji.
Marianne later shared an amusing story about the proposal, revealing that Ivanka Trump helped orchestrate it. She was tricked into thinking she was meeting Ivanka for a girls' night, only to arrive and find Drew waiting to pop the question. The pair were first romantically linked in May 2023, following Drew's previous short-term relationships.
The newlyweds spent quality downtime in the tropical locale after the festivities, marking the start of what they described as their next chapter, begun "with immense gratitude."
