Cyndi Lauper Threatens Heckler at Las Vegas Concert: 'I'm Gonna Come for You'
Cyndi Lauper Threatens Heckler at Las Vegas Show

Cyndi Lauper has demonstrated that she remains a force to be reckoned with, as she confronted an unruly audience member during the opening night of her Las Vegas residency. The 72-year-old singer, renowned for timeless hits such as "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and "Time After Time," launched her first-ever residency at Caesars Palace's Colosseum on Friday, 24 April.

While introducing her song "Sally's Pigeons," Lauper was interrupted by a heckler whose words were unintelligible. Undeterred, she responded, "I don't know what the f*** you're saying, hon." She continued, "But please remember where you are, OK? Because if you're trying to shade me, b****, I'm gonna come for you," drawing applause from the audience. Adding a touch of her Brooklyn roots, she said, "I'm from Brooklyn, and if I wanna f***ing talk, I will do a tap dance if I f***ing want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills."

Hecklers have long been a challenge not only in comedy but also in the music industry. In November, singer Halsey silenced a Boston audience member who demanded she "stop talking and play" a specific song, retorting, "You think you're tough s*** because you're from Boston? I'm from Jersey, baby. I'll whoop your a**." Similarly, in December, country star Kelsea Ballerini confronted a heckler in Sydney, Australia, who shouted "Team Morgan!" during her performance of "Penthouse," a song widely interpreted as about her divorce from Australian husband Morgan Evans. She paused the show to say, "F*** off. Team 'everyone is happy' here." A similar incident occurred in February during her Florida concert, prompting her to threaten via Instagram Story to remove the song from the setlist if disrespectful shouts continued.

Lauper's Las Vegas residency is a limited run of just five concerts, currently scheduled through May 2. Last November, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with Chappell Roan introducing her. She joined the class of 2025 alongside the White Stripes, Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa, Joe Cocker, and other luminaries.
