Attending the Julie Perrie Christmas lunch at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, Coleen Rooney did not let her injury compromise her fashion sense. She paired her fitted brown leather skirt and off-the-shoulder top with a single brown YSL kitten heel on her uninjured foot. The other foot was secured in a protective medical boot.
Her mother, Colette McLoughlin, also dressed impressively for the outing in a draped brown dress and a white fur coat, managing her mobility with crutches as she entered the venue.
The Ironic Party Injury
The origin of Coleen's injury stems from a raucous celebration for her husband Wayne's 40th birthday last month. Coleen broke her foot after losing her balance and tripping in her heels during the festivities. In a humorous twist, Wayne himself had spent part of the weekend dressed as Freddie Mercury, confidently navigating a pair of stilettos for a fancy-dress party.
Speaking on his podcast, The Wayne Rooney Show, the former footballer recalled the event: "I was Freddie Mercury. I wore high heels... but my feet were intact. Coleen actually slipped in her heels and broke her foot." The cause of her mother's injury remains unknown.
High Spirits and a Grinch Encounter
Despite the setback, Coleen was in visibly high spirits at the lunch. She was photographed smiling broadly and even posed for pictures with a tambourine-playing Grinch, fully embracing the festive atmosphere.
