Model and television personality Chrissy Teigen has taken a lighthearted approach to a minor dental disaster, sharing the mishap with her millions of followers.
A Festive Mishap Leads to a New Look
The 40-year-old mother-of-four took to Instagram on Sunday to post a holiday-themed video of her children. However, it was her caption that caught fans' attention. "Merry chrithmath from our family to yours!!!!!!!" she wrote, deliberately mimicking a lisp.
This playful spelling was a joke about a chipped tooth she sustained while trying to open a piece of candy with her teeth. In multiple photos and clips shared across the weekend, the candid star shamelessly showed the stub of her natural tooth, which had previously been covered by a veneer.
Family Fun and a Swift Repair
The video itself featured her children – Luna, nine, Miles, seven, and two-year-olds Esti and Wren – engaging in a festive activity. They were filling plant pots with candy canes and crumbled Oreo cookies. Teigen humorously labeled the clip "Growing Candy Cane (Gone Wrong)."
The star didn't stay toothless for long. She later posted footage of herself being treated by a dentist, writing over the snippet, "We are back in business, shout out to the tooth goat @drlaurencerifkindds." In a selfie with her eldest daughter, Luna, she quipped: "Was cool to say hi to my old tooth for a while hiiii old tooth!"
Life with Legend and Family Updates
Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, 46, also revealed she "had to go to a school recital like this" with the chipped tooth. The couple tied the knot in 2013 and renewed their vows a decade later in 2023.
They first met in 2006 on the set of Legend's "Stereo" music video, got engaged in 2011, and started their family with Luna's birth in April 2016. Son Miles arrived two years later, followed by daughter Esti in January 2023. The family surprised fans with the arrival of their fourth child, Wren, via surrogate just five months later.
The family-of-six were recently seen enjoying a Disney On Ice performance on December 20 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
In a separate revelation on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in January 2024, Teigen admitted to early jealousy in her relationship with The Voice judge. She recalled getting "so jealous and unhinged" watching him interact with fans and co-stars, specifically mentioning his "Green Light" video shoot.
